10 things to do in November

in Lifestyle, Organization

Tis the season before the season! It’s the month before Christmas and while Thanksgiving is a big one this month, those of us who are planners are already trying to get ahead on Christmas while still stuffing our face with Turkey. Welcome to the 10 things to do in November, my second to last post in this year long series!

Which side do you lean in November? more of a lover of fall or someone who is itching to put up the holiday decorations?

  • Take stock in your gift wrap materials. Do you have enough wrapping paper? Tape? Gift bags in the sizes you use?
  • Print out some coupons! Chances are you can use some extra cash this upcoming expensive season so hop on coupons.com and other coupon sites and stock up on items with coupons!

  • Address your Christmas cards. If you got your photos done last month and ordered them the beginning of this month, by black Friday weekend they should arrive and you send address them to mail! People (like myself) love to hang cards all December long so send them early and fill up their home!
  • Buy stamps. You’ll need them for all those holiday cards you plan to send and you probably won’t have to wait in any lines this month vs next!
  • Plan out your elf schedule! For those of you with 2 or 3 year olds, I already have schedules done with ideas we’ve completed the last two years. If you have a 4 year old, make sure you sign up to get my newsletter as the Elf Ideas for 4 year olds post is on it’s way!
  • Purge your winter wardrobe. If you kept it ALL last winter and never put it on, donate it! Winter boots have scuff marks all on the toes? Time to get new ones! Holes in your winter coat pocket? Get out the sewing needle or get something new! Now is a great time to pay attention to your winter gear needs so you can keep an eye out for sales or know what to ask for in the holiday season.
  • Give thanks. It’s a big month to give thanks so reach out to someone to say thank you. A teacher. A coworker. A friend. A parent. Write a card. Send a gift. Call to say thank you.

  • Paint something. Whether it’s a wall in your home, a piece of furniture, or a small wicker basket, give an item or a space a new look with the help of some fresh paint.
  • Spend a day outside. Even if the weather is a little chilly you can still find seasonal activities to enjoy this month. A late fall picnic. A day cleaning up the last of the fallen leaves. Weeding the expired summer flowers. Go on a hike.

  • Order personalized gifts. December is not the time to order personalized gifts as they usually take extra time to create. Cross these off the list and get them done sooner than later! If you’re looking for some ideas, check out this updated post that shares the personalized gifts our family has enjoyed through the years (which includes updated gift ideas!)
