When my mom’s side of the family gets together for family vacations, we like to have a good time. We drink, eat, beach it and also enjoy a family game! This year we mixed and matched the team members for a super fun scavenger hunt game!
For the scavenger hunt, I broke everyone out into four teams that were led by each of the siblings from my mom’s family. Teams were mixed and matched so that family members were not necessarily husbands and wives, parents and kids. Each team received a two page print out and a reusable tote bag. They were given 20 minutes to find all the materials on page 1 and fill out the contents on page 2, meeting back in our original location!
I was skeptical if all family members would be into the game, but I didn’t realize how competitive everyone was! (And how many cheats we also had amongst us!) I’m happy to report that everyone had a great time, laughing, hoarding the keys to parked cars to avoid another team from getting items, and sneakily trying to find team member’s birthdays through social media or other inquiries. Not only did we have a great time but some of the tasks to win included digital photos of team members doing different things so we have digital proof of the fun we had!
At your next family get together, I’d highly recommend doing a scavenger hunt to get everyone involved in good clean fun! For your convenience, I’ve also included the pdf download that you can use to customize for your next game night! Download by clicking the image above!

I like your family reunion scavenger hunt idea. I couldn’t find the place you posted the link to the editable version of your list for the teams. Would you mind emailing it to me or telling me where to find it on your blog?
Thanks!

Hi Chris! Glad this can be useful to you and your family! Here’s the link to download the file: https://www.spotofteadesigns.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Family-Scavenger-Hunt.pdf
However I did make this in illustrator so you’d need to manually hand write in the names and then photocopy it for everyone. I don’t have a word doc or anything like that which is editable on the computer. Sorry for not clarifying!
I’m also emailing you this info :)
