Anyone who knows me in real life can tell you that I’m a planner. When I first got engaged, my wedding thank you cards were the first things I crafted! To me, they were a much needed part of the experience to thank our family and friends, but they didn’t rely on some color palette, theme or idea I had to decide on that affected the rest of our wedding. It was something I could work on to plan ahead and get accomplished. I took this same approach when it came to my pregnancy!
We knew we’d find out what we’re having eventually, but I didn’t need that information in order to work on my baby shower thank you cards. So just before the end of my first trimester, I got to work crafting my designed cards.
I found this super cute cling style stamp set on clearance at Michaels that would be perfect for future baby crafting!
After stamping the rocking horse design on a scallop shape, I used an old school method – colored pencils – to color them in, using a gender neutral color palette of course!
After layering this colored design on a piece of distressed patterned paper and adding this to a distressed brown card base, my cards were ready to go!
Tip: Go ahead and address your envelopes ahead of time with shower guests you know will be in attendance or whom you think will still send you a gift and should be thanked. This way, after the shower, you’ll be all ready to write your grateful message inside and add your stamp to mail!
