Destination Wedding Table Numbers

in Celebrations, Crafts & DIY, Wedding & Engagement

Are you and your fiance big travelers and you’re looking for a way to include these memories for your wedding? Consider dropping the traditional table numbers and create destination table numbers! Scroll below to see how I used it in my wedding and visit my Etsy listing to have me recreate it for your big day!

Derek and I had been on our fair share of vacations around the US and internationally prior to getting married. For our wedding, instead of traditional table numbers I created destination table numbers showcasing places we have been together and photos displayed for a personal touch.

When guests left the cocktail hour area and walked towards the reception room, they found this large frame listing all the seating locations, surrounded by smaller photo frames.

These frames (which were also found at thrift stores and were finished with the same matting technique done for the family wedding photos) included photos of Derek and I, with a small description describing the location shown.  Guests were able to learn where their seat was, and, if desired, check out some photos of us over the years.

I liked this set up as 1) I didn’t have to make all those little escort cards and B) if people wanted to look at photos of us they could, or if they wanted to find their seat and move on their way, they could do that also. (We all know most men probably don’t care, but women love to look at pictures!)

Once entering the reception room, guests found their seats when reading each of the “table numbers” which included the state/country silhouette. (The venue never put these pieces in frames as I asked prior to the big day and it was only something I noticed later in the evening. By then, of course, it didn’t matter and no one notice but me!)

I added a glittered heart over the specific area of that state/country for a little touch of gold to complete my black, white and gold color combo.

I’m so happy how this collection came out!

UPDATE:

A while back I was also doing these for other brides in my etsy shop!

LATEST GRAMS

Hello fellow readers! If you're looking for some r Hello fellow readers! If you're looking for some recommendations for historical fiction reads, here are 5 of my favorites I enjoyed last year that I'd recommend to readers who like this genre (with no spoilers):
.
The Frozen River by Arial Lawhorn – Takes place in the post American Revolution times, narrated by a midwife sharing her challenges in this profession and not being taken seriously but still having people trust her medical authority. It includes a murder and trial, which just reiterates how crazy it was to be a woman back then and their lack of rights!
.
The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel – Like many of her books, this author focuses on the French aspect of WWII, but this time as those who helped forge documents to help Jewish children cross the border.
.
The Nature of Fragile Things by Susan Miessner – Follow Susan Whalen who comes to San Francisco in 1906 as a mail order bride only to get into the middle of a complicated life after marrying a man she never met and things she discovers during a nature disaster in her state.
.
The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali – Starts in the 1950s in Iran where we meet two friends and follow their story through the historic time of this country. This fictional read shares more about the culture and limitations of women and those who try to change the government while struggling to maintain friendships.
.
The Rose Code by Kate Quinn – An assortment of female friendships during WWII as they work to break secret codes by the German military and continues to follow their stories through the years.
.
If you have a suggestion on another in this genre, please leave it in the comments so I can add to my TBR!
