This winter, just like Brielle’s first, was full of TOO MUCH SNOW! We were stuck in the house a lot! It was up to this creative mommy to come up with a few entertaining ideas. Just like my 10 Ideas to Entertain A Toddler in Winter post said, arts and crafts are a popular activity in our home! It was time for a St. Patrick’s Day themed fingerpaint activity!
We grabbed our favorite Crayola Washable Fingerpaints, some paper, a green pipe cleaner (not shown above) and our beloved roll of Con-Tact Brand Clear Covering Self-Adhesive Liner and got to work.
Miss Brielle donned her favorite black t-shirt turned smock, rocked two baby buns and got to work spreading that paint with her favorite two finger method.
It was a beautiful array of greens and oranges and she loved every minute of it. After letting her four paintings dry, I cut into a heart shape and arranged them like a four leaf clover on a sticky sheet of the Con-Tact paper. I added the pipe cleaner then peeled and applied a second layer on top. A quick little scissor trick turned this fingerpaint exercise into a fun shamrock to hang in our home.
Brielle found the perfect spot for it hanging it on the handles in our foyer closet. It’s such a random location but whatever, she could reach there!
The next day we broke out our green, orange and gold pom poms for some hands on activities including putting them in and out of a wipe container and muffin tin cups. That entertained her for quite some time while mommy put away the dishes!
