Remember the first place you lived with a Christmas ornament featuring one special element of that space, the key! See how to easily turn some dollar store items into a keepsake Christmas ornament of your first home.
While we are very excited and happy in our new home, we, of course, have fond memories of our first home we just left. And while yes, we did give MOST of the keys from that place I wanted to keep one for a special project for our Christmas tree and made this Christmas ornament.
Supplies:
- Plastic ornament (mine was an upside down mason jar style)
- Key
- Ribbon
- Cricut Glitter Vinyl (and the Strong Grip Transfer tape it came with)
- Cricut Air Explorer 2 (LOVING this machine!)
- Fake Snow
The thinking and overthinking of this project took up more time than the actual crafting! I decided that while it was important to include the “Our 1st Home” design on the front, I thought it was just as important to include the address on the back as well. Moms know that #mombrain is real and I may forget the place I lived for 8.5 years of my life!
The ribbon bow came together easily with some hot glue and fake snow from Dollar Tree completed the look!
I love that we got to hang this on our tree this year in our new house while still playing homage to the place we called home just a few months earlier.
What have you done to remember your first home?
