It’s officially spring! That makes it a great day to reveal my home tweet home spring mantle! For the past week or so I’ve been sharing sneak peeks on this year’s mantle theme and here’s the complete look that’s ready to take flight!
Orange and yellow are a not a typical color seen in our house. We’re more of a blue and grey cool color kinda home but these bright colors seemed like the perfect introduction to a new season!
The weather is getting warmer. We’re seeing more birds out our window and now we can see them on the fireplace mantle as well! I’ve already shared these bleeding tissue art pieces the girls helped me make one afternoon. They provide some colorful textures with fun blue jay themed designs on top. You can see how we made them on my instagram reel here!
Next I shared these painted birdhouses. It was another good craft that mixed a fun crafternoon activity my kids did that I finished off with my own personal painted flair.
To complete, I grabbed some paint and on a whim just decided to play and make some features and a hand painted “home tweet home” message on top. It was a fun little art therapy session I got to complete on a sunny day!
I shared those pieces with a instagram friend with thoughts that a garland of some sort was needed. She suggested a speckled egg look and I was able to make this one from two packs of white eggs from Walmart and some Decoart paint!
I drilled two holes on each end and threaded some jute cording through for a final addition to this spring mantle look. See it in action on my reel!
All these colorful DIY pieces came together with NO outside purchases made! These were all items I had in my stash for years and now they will happily sit on our mantle for the remainder of this spring season!
