Anyone have a kid who gets SUPER excited about an upcoming holiday or event and asks EVERY day if it’s today? To put the timeline into visual perspective, create a fun paper plate paper chain countdown to count down the days until Christmas! Download the free printable and pair this craft with the return of the Elf on the Shelf!
Create this fun countdown in advance and have the Elf on the Shelf bring it a week before Christmas to make those last 7 days even more fun!
To create your Christmas Paper Chain Countdown you will need:
- Paper Plate
- Construction paper
- Christmas Countdown Sign (download the free printable here)
- Craft Knife
- Scissors
- Ribbon for hanging
- Glue Stick
Cut out the printable and attach to the center of paper plate.
Punch a hole on the top and use a craft knife to cut a long hole underneath.
Begin creating your paper chain. Loop one paper strip to make a circle and secure with a glue stick or tape. Insert the second paper strip inside the loop before attaching together. Repeat with all paper strips except the last one! We used these steps used to create the paper chain birthday countdown a few years back!
