When putting up the Christmas decor this year I found a wood bead snowflake ornament that I had no idea where it was from. I loved the pattern and figured I could handmake a few more for our entryway that seemed to be screaming for a neutral tone this year.
Wood Bead Snowflake Ornament Supplies:
- 48 Wood Beads
- Wire (I used beading wire)
- Wire Cutters
- Needle Nose Pliers
- Twine
- Optional: Decorative ribbon to accent
Create the center ring with 6 beads in a circle.
To create each arm (is that what you call it?) of the snowflake, you’ll need 7 beads. Thread 5 beads on the wire, as seen in step 1 above.
Take the wire around the outside of that 5th bead and go back down through the second bead only.
Thread on 2 more beads, as shown in step 3
Finally, thread the wire back through the first bead added to that arm. Repeat for each arm of the snowflake.
To hang, thread twine through one of the top beads on one of the arms and hang.
These wood bead snowflake ornaments look great with natural bead colors or can be done with pony beads or any bead styles you own using beading thread or wire.
These natural wood bead snowflake ornaments are currently hung around this wood sign in our entryway I got at Michaels end of season last year. And that cute natural wood block Christmas tree? My brother in law made it for me last Christmas!
