DIY Pastel Halloween Skull Decor

in Celebrations, Crafts & DIY, Halloween / Fall, Home Decor

No one said Halloween needs to be all orange and black colors and scary figures. Find inspiration for pastel Halloween skull decor filled with shiny bling gemstones and floral head coverings!

Ever since I did this Pastel Halloween Witch Party a few years back, I’ve loved the thought of added pastel Halloween decor to my home. I finally pulled the trigger and whipped these gem covered skulls to add a little “fun spooky” feeling in our bathroom.

Supplies to create Pastel Halloween Skull Decor:

  • Plastic skulls
  • Candle stand
  • Adhesives – Beacon Adhesives Gem-Tac and Beacon Adhesives Power-Tac
  • Krylon Ballet Slipper Pink Spray Paint
  • Gemstones
  • Artificial Flowers
  • Pearl necklace
  • Plastic Spider rings
  • Black acrylic paint

Give a few light coats of spray paint to transform your skulls. Choose whatever color makes you happy but I went with this ballet slipped pink color.

Adhere a skull onto a candle stick stand to create some height using Power-Tac, which has a super strong grip! Pop off the tops of your artificial flowers and adhere to the top of the skulls. Snip the ring part off of a spider ring and add on the eye area of the skull. Hold for a few seconds until each is secured.

Now is the fun part! Add Gem-Tac glue to the skull and start applying the gemstones. I borrowed the Diamond Dotz stylus, wax, and tray from an art kit my daughter’s have but I see they also have a comfort grip set available. Work in small areas at a time and add more as you need it.

To add a little more bling and some humor to these pastel Halloween skulls, I painted the mouths with black acrylic paint and added more bling pieces on top.

The pink spray paint, floral accents, and gems turned these otherwise creepy Halloween pieces into playful Halloween items to dress up our bathroom shelf.

To make the skull theme complete, I placed this string art skull that uses glow-in-the-dark embroidery thread in the center.
