Being A Mom

I’m a mom.

I’m a mom. I want my kids to learn how to fall asleep on their own but also secretly love them falling asleep on me.

I’m a mom. I love the small times when someone offers to take a picture of our cute family so I can be IN the photo.

I’m a mom. I often rock the mom bun and yoga pants but love those times when I can dry my hair straight and wear nicer clothes.

I’m a mom. I’m amazed at what our bodies can do to house those little growing peanuts for 9 months and how they can (somewhat) go back to their own shape.

I’m a mom. I love to see my girls have their own thoughts and independence. But I also enjoy when they copy me and they act like a mini me.

I’m a mom. I now have new perspectives and struggle with the direction on how to lead. I understand why my mom wanted my sister to play with me as it’s so cute to see them interact together. But as a big sister myself, I also see Brielle’s side in wanting to do her own thing without her little sister tagging along.

I’m a mom. I never knew how much I could do with what I had and how much I could live without. I never knew how much weight I could carry when toting around my two girls at the same time. I never knew how much I could do one handed. I never knew how much empowering it can be to see your child grow solely on the milk your own body provides. I also never knew how much I could accomplish on very limited sleep.

I’m a mom. When pregnant it was fun to feel them inside but by the end I couldn’t wait to get them out. Then once they’re out I end up wearing them like an external womb.

I’m a mom. I want to teach them fun things and love watching them learn.

I’m happy to be a mom to these two little girls!
