HEY YOU GUYS! It’s time to get the gang together to celebrate one of the biggest adventures in movie history – that time Mikey, Chunk and the whole group of misfits saved the goondocks! This Goonies themed party is chalk full of references to these memorable underdogs and how they fought off the Fratellis and Mr. Perkins in one foul swoop. Come along as we walk the plank, enjoy some rocky road treats and steer clear of booby traps all while chanting “Goonies Never Say Die!”
I can’t believe I never shared this Goonies Halloween party that I styled YEARS ago! So long ago it was at our old house! Sadly it was for a party supply company that is no longer in business due to the lack of party celebrations in 2020 but it needed a place on the net so here it is!

I was a big fan of this movie because my mom had taped it off the TV and that VHS was watched so many times during snow days or sick days. Fun fact: Annie and Little Monsters were also on that same tape, and all the 80s commercials that go along with it!

Ye intruder’s beware! The main spread for this party will be reminiscent of One Eyed Willy’s pirate ship which held all the rich stuff. You won’t need one of Data’s crazy inventions to spot this food display with a high rising pirate mast.

The idea behind this Goonies Halloween Party dessert table was that you just discovered all these yummy rich desserts among the table on One Eyed Willy’s pirate ship. Yep, One Eyed Willy is easy to recreate as you grab a skeleton, one eye patch and a ratty pirate costume.

Pair it with a DIY ship sale and create a “Never Say Die” pennant strung across the top.

You don’t have to be the richest people in Astoria or print counterfeit fifty dollar bills to throw a delicious celebration inspired by the 1985 classic adventure movie. We all know Dominos and Pepsi had product placements in the flick to make sure those are served as the main meal. Fill the table with snacks, treats and drinks that fit the movie theme.

Create little pirate themed signs to pull in the theme further!

Snacks can be homemade, like these apple, peanut butter and marshmallow Pinchers of Peril or these Rocky Road chocolate covered marshmallow treats. You could also just plainly go with Rocky Road Ice Cream!

Don’t skip on adding Baby Ruth bars, chocolate truffles, and chocolate covered coins to be “Mouth’s Wishes” from the wishing well.

Wrap candy tubes with printed materials to look like a stick of Dynamite (Booby traps)!

Sprinkle more gold coins and necklaces around, just like they found on One Eyed Willy’s ship!

These party favors might be more amazing than the time Chunk ate his weight in Godfather’s pizza. Send each of your guests home with a copper bones skeleton key cookie made by your favorite custom cookie creator. These were made by my friend Cherylin of Treat Yo Self Treats.
