Cool Summer Cocktails

In our neck of the woods, we’ve had a pretty hot summer so far. Hot summer = cool drinks! Here are two we recently made for a bbq:

Shaken Watermelon Margarita

Ingredients:

• Watermelon
• Tequila
• Lemon
• Ice

This creation was made by our very own drink expert and groomsmen to be, Jesse! Squeeze chunk of watermelon and lemons with a citrus press to release the juice and put into a shaker. Add tequila. Shake and serve over ice.

White Wine Sangria

Ingredients:

• Dry white wine (I used a Sauvignon blanc)
• Fresh Fruit (I used apples and oranges)
• Peach Schnapps
• 2 cans of Ginger Ale

I recommend making the first part of this drink the night before you plan to serve it. Cut up fruit and place into pitcher with the bottle of wine and allow to sit overnight. A few hours before serving, add some peach schnapps (sorry, I’m not sure how much I poured in) and 2 cans of ginger ale. Mix. Pour into a glass, making sure to include a few bites of the alcohol soaked fruit.
