Here’s another recipe created for my baby shower! It’s based on this one shared at AllRecipes.com with a few changes, as noted!
Supplies:
- 2 heads fresh broccoli (Allie’s version used 3 heads of broccoli)
- 1 red onion
- 3/4 cup raisins (Allie’s version: Craisins instead of raisins)
- 3/4 cup sliced almonds
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
- (Optional) 1/2 pound bacon (Allie’s version didn’t include bacon)
Allie’s note about early preparation: “The person who shared this with me originally said to not add the mayo/dressing until right before serving, but I’ve eaten this as leftovers before and it was fine. I wouldn’t let it go too many days, but the next day was fine, so an hour or 2 before should be okay as well.”
Yum! My boys LOVE broccoli and this is a great idea for those hot humid summers. Just need to omit nuts because of my son’s allergies but bacon makes everything better :) ~maria
